1998 - Creation of PROCINORTE
PROCINORTE was officially established under IICA to foster collaboration in agricultural research among Canada, the U.S., and Mexico.
1999 - First Task Forces Launched
PROCINORTE initiated two technical task forces to address regional plant and animal health priorities.
2000 - More Task Forces
Tree Fruits and Genetic Resources Task Forces were created to address trinational needs.
2003 - Strengthening Dialogue
PROCINORTE began facilitating dialogue among agricultural research institutions across North America.
2009 - Phytosanitary Standards
Contributed to aligning plant health standards, especially against invasive pests.
2012 - Integration with FORAGRO & GFAR
Strengthened ties with regional and global research forums, increasing policy relevance.
2017 - Strategic Framework Renewed
Adopted a new strategic plan aligned with emerging challenges and innovations.
2019 - Soil, Water, and Climate Change TF
Established to lead trinational response to climate change.
2019 - Tree Fruits TF Closed
Facilitated knowledge sharing on fruit safety and developed a device for avocado dry matter.
2020 - One Health Approach
Expanded focus to include One Health, integrating research priorities across borders.
2023 - 25th Anniversary
Celebrated 25 years of regional cooperation and future vision.
2025 - Resiliency TF & Strategy
Launched the Agricultural Resiliency Task Force and updated the strategic plan for 2025–2030.
